The activities took place over three days and were open to the media.<br><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong><em>On October 29, at 6:00 p.m.<\/em><\/strong>, in the National Historical Museum, \"Unesco\" hall, the guests were introduced and the organizers spoke, with the presence of researchers, scientific researchers, representatives of the diplomatic corps and human rights associations, the country's universities and students, international organizations and public and non-governmental institutions.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>Albanian and foreign guests and personalities from scientific research and memory institutions opened this first conference that addresses, through qualitative studies, the period of communist dictatorship in Albania. The research perspective of local and Kosovar professors and academics was added to by the significant contribution of foreign researchers and the active participation of the European Network of Memory (ENRS) of BsTu, the German Authority for the Opening of Files.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>Next, the film \"Silent Doors of Hell\" was screened, a journey through prisons and forced labor camps in Albania, produced in collaboration with the Institute for the Study of the Crimes and Consequences of Communism and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.<br><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong><em>On October 30 and 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,<\/em><\/strong> in the \u201cShpataraku\u201d hall, Albanian and foreign scholars, researchers, historians and journalists addressed for the first time the topic of internment-deportations in Albania, based on the conceptualization, history and practices of forced labor during the communist regime, through a historical-legal approach to the institutionalization of forced labor.<br><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The work for the conference has been underway for months and over <strong>50<\/strong><strong>Albanian and foreign researchers<\/strong> have responded to the call to participate. The evaluation committee has <strong>selected 36 papers<\/strong>, organizing them into <strong>9 panels of 4 researchers each<\/strong>, of scientific research and memory.
