How can I request documents from the Authority for a close person or for myself if I don’t know where to start and don’t have accurate information?

Every citizen has the right to request documents from the State Security archive, for themselves or for other persons (if they are an heir, legal representative, or request for permitted purposes such as inheritance, family research, or historical investigation).
You need to fill out an official form, which is divided into four parts:
Your personal data
Information to assist in the search (such as the person's name, year, place, event)
Documents you attach (such as ID card, family certificate, etc.)
Sign the declaration of responsibility.
It is very important that you write the reason why you are requesting the information – this is called a “justified interest.”
Also, if you know any details about the document you are requesting, such as the year, place, or other names involved, it helps make the search more accurate.
The request is usually processed within 30 calendar days.
If your request is unclear or documents are missing, the Authority may ask for clarifications or issue an official response regarding the lack of documentation.
